Resource America, Inc. (NASDAQ:REXI) (the "Company") operates businesses in energy and real estate finance. The Company’s energy business, Atlas America, Inc., focuses on the financing, development, production and management of natural gas, and to a lesser extent oil, for its own account and for third party investors. The Company’s real estate finance business, Resource Properties, Inc., purchases commercial real estate mortgage loans at a discount and restructures and refinances those loans. Since 1997 the Company has sponsored two publicly-traded income-focused entities: RAIT Investment Trust (RAS:Amex), a real estate investment trust, in which the Company owns a 10.6% equity interest, and a subsidiary, Atlas Pipeline Partners, L.P. (APL:Amex), a master limited partnership which owns and operates natural gas pipeline gathering systems. The Company owns 51% of the limited partnership units of APL and 100% of the general partner.

Assets under management as of September 30, 2021 are $1.4 billion. Management’s goal is to provide long term value to our shareholders. Since current management arrived in 1987, the Company has grown from approximately $17 million in assets, to approximately $500 million in assets, as of September 30, 2000, while assets under management have grown from approximately $3.2 million in 1987 to approximately $1.4 billion in September, 2000, and shareholder equity from $15 million to approximately $281 million as of September, 2000.
