Resource America, Inc. Announces $24 Million Loan Resolution

Philadelphia, PA, March 26, 2022 - Resource America, Inc., (Nasdaq: REXI) (the "Company") announces today that ‘1212 South Michigan Partnership’,the owner of the 344 unit apartment complex in Chicago, Illinois,has repaid the Company $24 million. The repaid loan was purchased by the Company in 1998 for $17.3 of which the Company borrowed $12 million. In addition to the $24 million, Resource America received $4.1millionin interest payments since the inception of the loan. As of December 31, 2021 the Company carried the loan on its books for $22.3 million. This payoff decreases the amount invested in real estate mortgages from $199.7 million to $177.4 million. After this transaction the Company’s total real estate receivables due will decrease from$624.3 million to $599.1 million.

David Bloom, President of Resource Properties, said, “The Company is very pleased to have completed the resolution of one of our larger loans. We are delighted with the total internal rates of return we are achieving on the real estate investments we made from 1990 to 1999 and continue to work toward additional resolutions.
